Principal's Message

Dear Rivers Edge Families,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you to another wonderful school year at Rivers Edge Elementary—Home of the Eagles!

As I begin my second year as principal, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving a school community that means so much to me. Over the past year, I have had the privilege of strengthening relationships with our students, families, and staff and seeing firsthand the many things that make Rivers Edge such a special place. I am proud of what we accomplished together, and I am even more excited about the opportunities ahead for our Eagles.

At Rivers Edge, we believe that every student can be and feel successful. Our commitment is to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment where every child is known, valued, supported, and empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We want our students to feel a strong sense of belonging while also being challenged to discover their strengths, take risks in their learning, and reach their fullest potential.

As we prepare our Eagles for the future, we will continue to develop the attributes of the Henrico Learner by helping our students grow in character, become global citizens, communicate and collaborate effectively, and think critically and creatively. Through meaningful learning experiences, strong relationships, and opportunities to explore and grow, we are committed to ensuring that every Eagle is #LifeReady.

We are one family at Rivers Edge Elementary, and the partnership between school and home is an important part of our students’ success. Together, we will continue building a culture rooted in Safety, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect as we encourage our Eagles to S.O.A.R. each and every day.

Communication and connection will continue to be priorities for me. I value your ideas, feedback, questions, and partnership, and I encourage you to reach out throughout the year. When our families, staff, and community work together with our students at the center of all we do, there is no limit to what our Eagles can accomplish.

I am excited for another year filled with learning, laughter, new experiences, and opportunities for our students to shine. Together, we will help every Eagle soar higher, find success, and know that Rivers Edge is a place where they belong.
